Rhodolite Gem Stone Rough

Rhodolite gem stone rough in flawless and near-flawless crystals are being mined in Madagascar today.

The name rhodolite is said to come from the Greek word rhodon, meaning rose. Others believe the name refers to the rhododendron. In either case, the name is comparing the colour to a flower.

Rhodolite is a combination of pyrope and almandine garnet. Colours range from pink to rose-red, to raspberry, and violet.
